Barbecued Hot Wings
No one can resist these Barbecued Hot Wings. They make a finger licking good dish for your Super Bowl party. Super Bowl Sunday is a perfect time to break out the outdoor grill to prepare everyone's favorite finger food. To help get your party kicked off set out a platter of hot wings with blue cheese dressing and celery sticks. Make sure you have plenty of napkins to clean faces as there will be a lot of happy, saucy faces.
- 12 whole chicken wings (about 2 1/2 lbs.)
- 1 - 8 oz. bottle Italian dressing
- 3/4 c. hot pepper sauce
- 1/2 tsp. cayenne pepper
- 1/4 tsp. paprika
- 2 tbsp. butter, melted
- dash garlic powder
Cut chicken wings into three sections, discard tips. combine salad dressing, pepper sauce, cayenne pepper, paprika and garlic powder in a large bowl. Remove 1/2 c. for basting (cover and refrigerate). Put remaining sauce in a large resealable plastic bag. Add chicken and shake to coat. Refrigerate overnight. Remove marinaded chicken from the refrigerator and discard marinade. Grill wings over a medium heat for 12 - 17 minutes. Turn turning grilling. Add butter to the reserved sauce and brush over wings. Continue grilling for about 10 more minutes or until juices run clear. Baste several times while cooking. You can keep your wings warm in a slow cooker set on low heat.
