Holiday Granola Cookies
Holiday Granola Cookies make a delicious and colorful cookie for the holidays. These holiday cookies are good to eat and they make an excellent gift in a jar. If using this cookie recipes for another holiday, purchase different color candy-coated pieces.
This holiday cookie recipes are chewy and filled with lots of good things. Coconut, almonds, cranberries and sunflower seeds are just a few things you will bite into when enjoying these holiday cookies.
I have provided the mix recipe for Holiday Granola Cookies (you use as a gift in a jar) and also the recipe to make the holiday cookies using the mix.
Holiday Granola Cookie MixMakes a one 1-quart Jar
|1 1/2 c. all purpose flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/4 c. toated wheat germ
1/2 c. packed brown sugar
1/2 c. red and green mini candy-coated chocolate pieces
|1/2 c. sweetened shredded coconut
1/4 c. toasted slivered almonds
1/2 c. dried cranberries
1/4 c. pepitas*
2 tbsp. sunflower seeds
1 tbsp. sesame seeds
1 c. quick oats
*Pepitas are roasted pumpkin seeds
Combine flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt in bowl. Mix well. Pour 3/4 c. flour mixture into your 1-quart wide mouth jar (with tight fitting lid); pack down well. Combine remaining flour mixture and cinnamon and mix well. Add to jar and pack down well. Add wheat germ, brown sugar, candies, coconut, almonds, cranberries, pepitas, sunflower seeds and sesame seeds and oats; pack down well after each layer. Seal jar.
Cover top of jar with fabric, attach gift tag with raffia or ribbon and you have a perfect gift.
