Chicken Cordon Bleu is a classic French recipe for chicken. Chicken breasts stuffed with ham and Swiss cheese is an easy chicken recipe that makes a delicious meal for your family. Add a crisp fresh salad and you have a mouth-watering meal that our family won't pass up.
3 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
6 slices of lean ham
6 oz. Swiss cheese, but into 6 sticks
2 tsp. paprika
1/4 c. flour
3 tbsp. butter
4 oz. mushrooms
1/2 c. dry white wine
1 tbsp. cornstarch
1 c. heavy cream
Mix together the flour and paprika.
Place chicken breasts on board, cover with plastic wrap and lightly pound each to 1/4" thickness. Place a slice of ham and a stick of Swiss cheese on each breast. Tuck in the sides and roll, pressing lightly to seal. Securely tie each roll.
Coat each roll in the flour, paprika mixture and lightly brown in butter. After browning each roll, please in a baking dish. Bake in 350° oven for 1 hour or until chicken is tender. In same skillet used for browning chicken, add mushroom and cook until lightly browned. Add wine, starch and cream and stir until thickened. Serve over chicken.
