Sloppy Joes

Sloppy Joes make a delicious part of your Super Bowl party. Add a little cole slaw in the side and POW! you have a meal that your friends and family will enjoy while cheering on their favorite sports team.

My family has loved Sloppy Joes since they were young. They are so simple to make. They would help get the ingredients and measuring tools we needed for our recipe.

2 lbs. ground chuck
1/2 c. chopped onion
3/4 c. chili sauce
1/2 c. water
1/4 c. prepared mustard
2 tsp. chili powder
12 hamburger buns
12 slices cheddar cheese

In a large skillet, cook the ground chuck and onion until beef is browned. Drain in a colander to get rid of as much fat as possible. Blot with paper towels to eliminate any additional fat.

Place back in pan and add chili sauce, water, mustard and chili powder. Simmer, uncovered for about 20 minutes. Stir occasionally while cooking. Assemble and enjoy.
