Garlic Dill Breadsticks




Garlic Dill Breadsticks are savory and delicious. A basket of these won't last long at your dinner table. Garlic Dill Breadsticks are sure to become a favorite at your family gatherings.

With only one rise time, this bread recipe is easy and quick. They will fit into any meal plan. Besides, everyone loves bread with their meals and these Garlic Dill Breadsticks will become a family favorite.

Breadsticks:
  • 1/4 c. warm water (110° - 115°)
  • 1/4 tsp. plus 1 1/2 tbsp. sugar, divided
  • 1 pkg. active dry yeast
  • 3/4 c. sour cream with chives, room temperature
  • 2 tbsp. butter, softened
  • 1 egg, room temperature
  • 1/4 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 3 c. all-purpose flour

Garlic Butter:
  • 2 tbsp. butter, softened
  • 1 tsp. minced garlic
  • 1 tbsp. dill

Topping:
  • 1 tbsp. butter, melted
  • 1 tsp. coarse sea salt (optional)

Basket of Breadsticks

1. Combine water, 1/4 tsp. sugar and yeast in small bowl and let stand 10 minutes or until bubbly and foamy.

2. Whisk sour cream, 2 tbsp. butter, egg, baking soda and remaining sugar and salt in large bowl. Stir in yeast mixture and flour. On lightly floured surface, knead 8 - 10 minutes or until smooth. Roll dough into 24x6-inch rectangle.

3. Combine 2 tbsp. butter and garlic in small. Spread over dough,leaving 1/2" border. Sprinkle with dill. Fold in half crosswise then cut crosswise into 24 (1") strips. Hold strips at both end and twist until 4 - 5" long. Place 2" apart on parchment paper-lined baking sheet. Press ends down onto baking sheet. Cover and let rise 60 minutes or until doubled in size.

4. Heat oven to 375° F. Bake 12 to 15 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from oven and brush with melted butter; sprinkle with sea salt.
