When my kids were young, I was baking a batch of cookies using this recipe. When I took them out of the oven the kids looked at them and exclaimed "they all broke!." Chocolate Crinkle Cookies became a favorite in my house no matter what time of year.

Chocolate Crinkle Cookies

  • 4 eggs
  • 2 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 2 1/3 c. all purpose flour

  • Powdered sugar

Mix together granulated sugar and oil until well blended. Add cocoa. Mix well. Beat in eggs and vanilla.

In a separate bowl, stir together the flour, baking powder and salt. Add to the cocoa mixture and mix well. Cover and refrigerate until dough is firm enough to handle, at least 6 hours

Heat oven to 350° F. Grease cookie sheet, unless you're using a baking stone. Shape dough into 1" balls and roll in powdered sugar. Place about 2" apart on baking sheets.
