Chicken Mushroom Shells



Chicken Mushroom Shells is an easy chicken recipe that takes little effort to prepare. Leftover chicken and shrimp makes this dish one that everyone will come back for more. This chicken recipe is rather old so if you can't find frozen patty shells, you may use puff pastry shells.


  • 2 packages (6 each) frozen patty shells
  • 2 c. chicken broth
  • 3 tbsp. cornstarch
  • 1 - 8 oz. pkg. cream cheese, softened
  • 1 - 13 oz. can of evaporated milk
  • 3 c. cut up cooked chicken
  • 5 oz. small frozen cooked shrimp, thawed
  • 1/2 c. fresh mushrooms, diced
  • 4 tbsp. snipped chives
  • 2 tbsp. chopped roasted red peppers
  • Paprika

Prepare the shells as directed on package. Stir broth gradually into cornstarch in a 2-qt. saucepan. Add cheese and milk. Heat to boiling, stirring constantly. boil and stir 1 minute. Stir in chicken, shrimp and mushrooms. Heat until chicken and shrimp are hot.

Stir in chives and roasted red peppers. Spoon about 2/3 c. of the chicken mixture into each shell. Sprinkle with paprika and garnish with snipped chives.
