Beef Stroganoff


This rich and creamy Beef Stroganoff is quick and easy and certain to satisfy those big appetites. Start out with a boneless beef sirloin steak, add some select ingredients and you will have a meal that will stick to your ribs. Easy enough to cook any day of week and delicious enough to serve your guests, this Beef Stroganoff recipe is certain to become a favorite at your dining table.


5 tbsp. all purpose flour, divided
1/2 tsp. salt
1 lb. boneless beef sirloin steak, cut into thin strips
4 tbsp. butter, divided
1 c. sliced mushrooms
1/2 c. chopped sweet onion
3 garlic cloves, minced
1 tbsp. tomato paste
1 1/4 c. beef broth
1 c. sour cream
2 tbsp. cooking sherry
Hot cooked egg noodles or brown rice

In a large resealable plastic bag, combine 2 tbsp. flour and salt. Add sirloin beef strips (a few at a time) and shake to coat. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, brown beef in 2 tbsp. butter. Add mushrooms and onion, cook and stir until tender. Add garlic. Cook about 1 minute longer. Remove from heat and keep warm.

In the same skillet, melt remaining butter. Stir in tomato paste and remaining flour. Stir until smooth. Gradually add broth and bring to a boil. Cook and stir for 2 minutes for until thickened.

Return sirloin beef strips mixture to the pan. Add sour cream and sherry. Heat thoroughly but don't boil.

Serve over egg noodles or rice.
